Explorer satellite systems rv dish
I have a customer with the Explorer satellite systems (ESSI) dish on his RV. He put an XKU lnbf on it but now of course it won't find a satellite now. All you can do is manually adjust the dish using the remote control until you see the receiver working. I was looking for Explorer but the website is gone. There's a Facebook page that hasn't been updated since 2014 so i assume the company is extinct.
I had heard a long time ago about a company that was making a universal controller that you could just plug into the existing cables and continue to use the existing dish on the RV. Does anybody recall the name of that company? Every search i make seems to be a dead end.

Re: Explorer satellite systems rv dish
I don't think that anyone made one for the explorer. They were the first one in the market but it never seemed to take off-I only ever saw 2 of them. R-mogul makes a controller for the motosat-they were the engineers that designed the one at motosat so it was pretty easy for them to retrofit their controller for it.. i'd say he is out of luck

Re: Explorer satellite systems rv dish
I had looked at the RF Mogul website and saw a controller that would resurrect one of their old systems that had a dead controller but it didn't mention anything about converting to a different brand of dish. The controller has an RS232 connector on the front but i suppose finding an update to xku firmware for this controller might be an impossible dream.

Re: Explorer satellite systems rv dish
rf mogul only made a controller for the motosat because they knew already how to do it because they had designed it in the first place.
